HALA SPORTOVA
Hala sportova is the oldest sports facility in New Belgrade that opened as far back as 1968.
In 1979, Hala sportova became a part of the Sports Center together with outdoor and indoor swimming pools, making up one of the most famous sports, recreation, and entertainment complexes – Sportski Centar Novi Beograd.
The architectural and the structural design of the Hala sportova facility is very special and still recognized as such.
The facility has been carefully maintained for decades, and the new façade was designed in such a way to make Hala, with its functionality and attractiveness, a recognizable symbol of both the old and the new Belgrade.
Hala Sportova is a round structure of 60m in diameter and plan area of 5,664 m2.
The sports grounds cover 4,700 m2. The facility has 360m2 of locker rooms, equipped with toilets and showers, and additional 150m2 of office space. There is a dedicated parking space for visitors.
The official name of the facility is HALA SPORTOVA “RANKO ŽERAVICA” and it primarily provides services to professional athletes and clubs, but is also open to recreational athletes.
In addition to the large hall, the customers can also use three multi-purpose gymnasiums, a professional fitness gym, and table tennis tables.
The most attractive space of Hala Sportova is, definitely, the large hall, with up to 5,500 capacity. Depending on the event type, the configuration can adapt, so the arena can accommodate up to 1,000 seated or up to 2,000 standing visitors.
Hala Sportova is the venue for many sports and cultural events. Due to its acoustics, Hala Sportova often hosts large concert events.
Many famous local and foreign musicians have held concerts on the Hala sportova stage, e.g.: Riblja čorba, Bajaga i instruktori, Zabranjeno pušenje, Partibrejkers, Marčelo, Van Gogh, Kerber, Hladno pivo, Psihomodopop, Darko Rundek, Blondie, The Stranglers, Public Enemy, Placebo, Cool and the Gang, Brian Adams, Paul Anka,Gregorian, Manu Chao, The Cranberries, etc.
